It is seldom that you get two legends in the same room at the same time, but here is a moment in history. Rex Stockton, a legend in research and teaching on group therapy, meets with Irv Yalom, who is about to receive the first lifetime award for group therapy from Division 49. I was honored to have Rex as my advisor, mentor and now friend and it was a tremendous pleasure to see two giants in the field finally meet. They both influenced each other tremendously, over decades of contributions but this was the first time they had ever met in person. We were privileged to have dinner with them and it was a real joy to see two such eminent people enjoy spending time together!
